Few days ago a rumor was spread that Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood have read for roles in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 7. Now a Lucasfilm employee has turned to the fans for reactions about that rumor...
According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe's latest tweet - Lucasfilm made a post at the fan site "Obi Wants to Know Me" where they asked the fans about their reaction regarding the latest rumors:
"There have been some Star Wars casting rumors swirling lately and we'd love to hear your thoughts on them."
Here's a screen capture of the post:
The site Obi Wants To Know Me is founded by Lucasfilm, and it's main purpose is of getting feedback from Star Wars fans. This current message on the site was written by Spencer Beidelman, Director of Consumer Insights at Lucasfilm. This really gives some credibility to this rumor.
So far there has been a pretty big positive reaction to the Rachel Hurd-Wood rumor and not so positive for Alex Pettyfer. So can we assume that Rachel is really close to a contract? Well no one knows. Still it looks like the official announcement that we've been waiting for will definitely be about the cast.
My guess is that Lucasfilm have already cast some relatively famous actors and are trying to fill the remaining parts with some young talents. When they do that then we'll get the much anticipated official announcement.
