Rumor: New Episode VII Scenes/Characters Described – Part II.
Few weeks ago we brought to your attention a very interesting report posted on our message boards. Now the same forum member shared even more interesting bits about the upcoming movie. As always treat these as rumors until anything official is revealed and beware of a potential spoilers ahead…
You can check our previous report HERE.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS!
Now straight to the new bits. According to Cantina member King3000:
- Warwick Davis is playing a Cantina Musician.
- Benedict Cumberbacth shot a cameo scene a week ago.
- The guy who gets his arm ripped off in the Cantina scene (described in the previous report) is an alien played by Simon Pegg.
These three bits are pretty specific and they surely will be confirmed or debunked even before the movie opens in December 2015. So they will be a good test for the credibility of this guy’s sources.
Now some more stuff about the story:
Y’all gonna love when you see the opening of this film. So many little Easter eggs and surprises. Here’s a hint:
Slave I
And the same guy went on to speculate more on this Cantina scene. According to him he did this based on what he heard, and from the stuff MSW posted. So for now take the following as a speculation and a fun read. Some of the things might be true, some might have changed and some might be very far from the truth. Still I find it interesting that real actor names are used as I said above. So I guess we’ll find out pretty soon.
There must be some sort of action going on in space above Tatooine, Boyega is a Stormtrooper (this is 100%) his tie is shot down (again perhaps explains the Falcon and X-Wing outside the Cantina). Daisy wearing clothing similar to that of lukes in ANH and rescues Boyega, takes him back to her AT-AT home and he gets a change of clothes (Raggedy clothes as I described from the cantina scene, almost like he had been dragged off the street onto set).
Daisy heads to the Cantina in search of Han with her droid (which is an actual prop pushed along on bars) and Boyega in tow. She arrives is confronted by SIMON PEGG complete in alien prothetics including an enlarged neck, she raises her blaster, he takes it from her and points it back at her “Don’t point a blaster unless you intend to use it”, Chewie comes over “Ha what good is a one armed Wookie”, Chewie rips Peggs arm off and hands Daisy back the gun.
Han arrives (Wearing his iconic outfit minus the waistcoat which is replaced with a thin cut biker style leather jacket) looking flustered, I am guessing he still has the falcon and has possibly returned after whatever was happening in space to cause Boyega to crash, anyhow the owner of the Cantina (Lupita Nyong’o complete with CGI reference dots on her face) shouts “HAN SOLO” too which the entire Cantina stops and turns to Han (A Proper western moment) “You have 25 Bounties on your head” which implies Han is still playing rogue.
Also during the scene Boyega says “Thats when I met you” and “I didn’t want to fight”.
Outside a massive object (could be a ship/planet/moon) is destroyed again pointing towards there being a conflict in the sky, everyone exits the Cantina to watch **** go down.”
I believe him saying “I didn’t want to fight” is about him being a Storm Trooper, maybe he was forced into it by the bad guys/empire, we don’t really know this yet. The feeling is that Daisy and Boyega will fall in love at some point.
There are some things that differentiate from other rumors. For example many people believe that the dessert planet is not Tatooine. Also according to Jason from MSW this is not a Cantina, but a bidding station. And as I said before – the Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o playing a mo-cap character doesn’t make much sense, but we will see.
So for now take this with the usual quantity of salt.

I hope these scenes turn out to be true.
Sounds ok to me! Already feels more grounded and character focused. Or maybe that’s just me reading way to much into my own reading 😛
Seeing the old Slave 1 just sitting there a thought crossed my mind. How many things in the background of the OT did we just stare at and wonder about over the years? I hope we can somehow find us doing that again.
More specifically I’d love to see some new but totally unimportant cool props in the back ground. Like skulls, mechs, weapons and ships!
Actually sounds pretty good.
It’s gonna be alright folks, it’s gonna be alright.
so is Daisy Han’s daughter? And where is Leia?
NO Stormtrooper identities please. That will spoil it for me.
Then maybe don’t keep coming to this website? Or keep clicking links that say “POTENTIAL SPOILRS”? >_>; Seriously, it’s not a spoiler website’s responsibility to keep you spoiler free, goofball.
I didn’t say it was.
When Simon Pegg said he’d give an arm or a leg to be in Star Wars, he wasn’t joking!
LUPITA IS VENTRESS
Beings that when we left our lovable sith lord she became a Bounty Hunter, so this could be true.
Ages ago there was reports that Lupita was seen trying on Sith eyes etc…
So I hope it’s true She is playing Ventress, and tries to take on her biggest bounty yet! Han solo…
We all know Abrams is going to have a cantina scene. Question is what will he have in it?
Why Ventress?
-Rumors of Sith Witches
-Rumors of Bounty Hunter
-Rumors of her mo-caping spots on her face
-Reports of Lupita trying on Sith eyes and other related sith things.
All this sounds like Ventress to me. A rare character that is 3 in one. Sith, Sith witch, and bounty hunter.
Lupita playing Ventress would be kick ass, she’s got many of the same face features of Ventress. Knowing Abrams in changing things, I can see Ventress being black and her spots/marking on her face mo-caped in white.
Does not have anything to do with ventrus
I call fake. Dude just strung together the various reports making sure to mention each with a wink(“they go to her AT-AT HOUSE!!!” *wink wink*)
“What good is a one armed wookiee” ? LOL
Slave 1? Suppose it’s true;
Either an older Fett is still in the bounty hunting business and finally puts a rest to him having survived the Sarlacc, or the ship changed owner(s).
I love the idea of a “dessert planet” made entirely out of cupcakes and brownies.
Betcha ol’ 3P0 would still find a reason to bitch.
B-3P0: Oh no! How did I get into this mess? There are sticky delicious treats everywhere! <(8^C
I woould expect Lupita playng a more important character. And two main characters in a SW trilogy falling in love? Noooooo way, those in charge have better imagination than this.
“HAN SOLO” too which the entire Cantina stops and turns to Han (A Proper western moment) “You have 25 Bounties on your head” which implies Han is still playing rogue.
For some reason I just imagined Fett appearing out of nowhere, grab Solo from the collar and say, “We need to talk.”
So lupita turned down supporting roles in other films so she could play a CG bar owner?
Sorry, not buying this one.
Dude. It’s Star Wars. I’d turn down a night with Eliza Dushku to be in that! Well, probably not, but you see what I’m saying. Hopefully. =P
So… you’re saying I should be googling Eliza Dushku? ^_-
Oooh-meh-Gawd, DAAAAAYNAHHHHHH!!!! o<|:^o
“I’d turn down a night with Eliza Dushku to be in that!”
Spoken like a true fanboy.
When I first read this I really liked this whole cantina idea because it seemed like a very Star Wars-esque scene. And then I realized why: does anyone else feel like it is a lot like the first act of ANH?
Daisy is basically Luke (living a very simple life but is about to be pulled into something big, being destined for greatness), Boyega crashing his TIE and meeting Daisy is similar to the droids crashing in the escape pod and meeting Luke, Daisy and Boyega go to the cantina in search of Han (perhaps looking for transport off of Tatooine?) much like Luke and Obi-Wan with the droids, the confrontation with Simon Pegg’s alien character and subsequent limb-detachment by Chewie is like Luke being confronted at the bar and Obi-Wan ridding one of them of their arms also. And simply the fact that Han and Chewie are in the scene. It seems so familiar that I just can’t help but picture any place in my mind except the Mos Eisley cantina… (Also the crowds viewing the space battle from Tatooine reminds me of the deleted scene from ANH where Luke spies the Star Destroyer attacking the Tantive IV from near his farm).
Anyone else get that vibe or is it just me? Not saying it’s a bad idea or anything, it just seems quite… copied? Those similarities make me think that it might not all be accurate or at least in that order. Or maybe it’s just what makes for a really good opening to a Star Wars film??? 🙂
You’re right, it’s too similar with the Mos Eisley Cantina’s scene of ANH
I’m starting to think they hired Lawrence Kasden so he could put as many OT tie-ins as possible… when they should have stuck with Arndt and made VII more creative and original.
Guys, these rumors are fake. The first sentence gave it away. Whoever has this much access to Star Wars couldn’t write so poorly. “so there must be some sort of space action going on”… uhh… what? You mean like in EVERY Star Wars intro?
Chewie ripping an arm off sounds weak. Too much of a nod.
what? you’re finally realizing that VII is going to be filled with pointless “nods?” The ones to blame are you OT fanatics, who can’t stand to see Star Wars any other way.
That’s a very good point. Everyone who complained about the excellent prequels are going to get just what they wanted. The same old rehash instead of something that dared to be different… If this report is true.
“The ones to blame are you OT fanatics, who can’t stand to see Star Wars any other way.”
You mean good? Because that’s what we meant, not a rehash and certainly not the prequels.
Agreed. In fact all of this sounds like so much of a nod I’m afraid its true.
The similarities between Star Trek Into Darkness and The Wrath of Khan make me tend to believe this could be true I think.
Some of it reads ok.
Sounds like boring fan fiction.
Too much like ANH. just replace luke with daisy, the droids with boyega
For sure we can expect an easter egg linked with Star Trek.
A bit like this? http://i1.cdnds.net/13/37/618×237/r2d2-star-trek.jpg
Its all shaky ground at this point and a little over a year away…tread lightly and proceed on the net with caution.
I am heading out with what(is already too much)knowledge I have on what is or may be spoilerific.
I will miss this site. It was lots of fun.
Now off to buy Ear plugs!!!!
Luke said in Episode 4 that he was never coming back to Tattooine, so why is he there now? And why is there going to be another Cantina scene? Can’t the writers come up with any original ideas?
Luke was in Tattooine in Return of Jedi ( 6 ) to rescue Han… what ya mean he said he never was coming back ?…..
LUKE: Han be damned! I said I wasn’t coming back! xO
….said the jackass version of Luke.
Tatooine desert in VI:
LUKE: There’s nothing to see. I used to live here, you know.
HAN: Hey, dumbfuck. Remember where we met?
LUKE: Oh yeah, lol.
HAN: Heh. “Dumbfuck”. You know, when I call you “kid”, that’s what I really mean. ;P
LUKE: Bastard. ;P Hey, after we rip Jabba a new one, let’s grab a few cold ones.
HAN: I could go for a tasty beverage. You’re on! 😀
Ironic that you’re using that header artwork. Very close to the lair in the new new film, give or take a bit more industrialism.
Daisy and John did spend time together filming in the desert, I recall this. But why would her character want to save a downed Tie pilot? doesn’t make sense…
So, hold on… Are you claiming that the Empire would never have had any non-white stormtroopers, or are you acknowledging that all clone troopers were Maori? Because you can’t have both.
the “dessert” planet: this movie is gonna be delicious!
We’ve heard of Leia having some interaction with the Hutts. I wonder if Han and Chewie are on Tattooine because they escorted her to that meeting.
Likely Leia would have at least C3PO as a translator for the Hutts. Presumably, R2D2 would be with C3PO.
Just wondering aloud if all the movie’s heroes (less Luke) could be assembled when they leave Tattooine.
Just think: You still have a good 411 days and change to settle into your hatin’ ass. Be sure to periodically adjust positions! 😀
@ Tim Snow:
LMAO. Have you seen Rebels lately?! ^_^
Well, newsflash: Women and non-whites can now be stormtroopers.
Example: Zare Leonis and his sister, Dhara. This was before the original Star Wars on the timeline.
Women Stormtroopers! Is nothing sacred any more? First it’s the Royal And Ancient Golf Club allowing women members, now it’s The Empire. What next? Pope Britney!
It’s not about being sacred… even in the prequels there were female soldiers/ I remember one of the Naboo fighter pilots was female.
What’s the difference between Abu Dhabi and Dubai?
Dubai don’t show The Flintstones on telly.
Abu Dhabi Do!
It wasn’t. It was a pilot. In fact, it was Amidala in disguise
In the Phantom Menace, one of the Naboo Fighter Pilots that attacks the Droid Control ship is Female.
I hope to God there false!!! It sounds too much like the ANH. I’d really like to think that J.J. could be more original than that. “I have a bad feeling about this” I really hope I’m wrong!!
WELL SAID!!!!
@ Tim Snow:
Personally, I have no problem with a transgendered character in Star Wars, even though I know you’re only mentioning them as a form of mockery and disrespect. And I’m not referring to the EU but Rebels, which is canon. And, what-do-you-know, it looks like VII will continue to have non-white and female stormtroopers. I hope you’re able to cope.
I’m a patient man, Tim. I know one day your ignorant, arrogant and fearful kind will be dead and gone, inevitably replaced by far more enlightened individuals. So enjoy your stay while you’re here.
Tim: Wrong… Rebels is canon weather PT haters, Lucas worshipers like it or not (lolz even more inconsistency issues that helped fatten Lucas’s wallet).
It is an excellent point that if women & minorities are cadets in Rebels that Storm troopers wouldn’t be clones. Even if they are clones that would still make them minorities… the actor who played Jango doesn’t look white to me.
Though I for one hope these rumors aren’t true… whoever wrote them doesn’t seem like they’d be smart enough to work for & have that sort of access to SW production.
All this BS canon mean nothing to me. Think – you have established characters and story and suddently, some mistery guy 30 years later invents that starting today this or tat guys first, middle name is Sheep…..In few years who knows, maybe they settle that Han’s middle name is Henry jr. – boom, it’ “canon” now so shut up and accept it 🙂 I suggest everybody choose your own canon. Becausehey, could happen one day that some looney tunes cartoon StarWars Detour style will be declared canon :-). Someone always wants to go back and change thángs, add backstories, first names, etc…..is all this really necessary? OK, for the EU lovers it is, for thíse who worship every new story, word, sentence from the galaxy far away it is…..but There are some who don’ t like too much detail, who likes to use their imagination….
You are free to accept/reject whatever you want, but canon is important because future content must take them into consideration.
It’s a very loose interpretation of the Nazi regime… if it was a strictly
“by the book” interpretation then I think Lando wouldn’t have been left alive after the dealings in ESB. I think the all white/ british casting for Imperial officers was more just a numbers game & geographical limitation more than anything else… I mean… think about where they filmed a lot of the scenes with British personnel (the UK). + not all of them were british… if I’m not mistaken some of them had american accents in ROTJ “we are starting our approach” @ the intro of ROTJ. The storm troopers had american accents. That voice work was all done in post production, which was in America, so that explains the difference pretty much.
+ The “canon” of storm-troopers being clones is inconsistent… otherwise George would have had the same voice actor play all the storm-troopers in the OT specialized edition. If Lucas had intended to make them all clones he should have used the same voice actor for all the troopers.
+ it is implied that storm troopers have personalities as is displayed in the dialogue between them in the first film & ROTJ. + the imperial commandos aren’t clones.
If it is Canon it’s one that GL didn’t think all the way through (along with a bunch of other crap that is totally inconsistent.
I’m guessing you aren’t among those who say this, but one thing that really annoys me about people who say George Lucas should be able to change whatever he wants with Star Wars OT is that it simply isn’t true. I mean… yeah technically he owns it… but there are so many people involved with the story writing & ideas (like his ex wife for example)… what happens to all their work if Lucas makes an executive decision? Is their artistic integrity not infringed upon? It’s a group effort… Lucas wasn’t alone.
Think about it… it would be sort of like if Paul McCartney went back to Lennon’s songs and made his own lyrics to the songs… what Lucas did was just as irritating. Anyone who doesn’t see it has their blinders on.
Here’s another inconsistency:

Yeah, I read this excerpt half a year ago.
He should have stuck with his original story, especially the details on Anakin’s character.
It’s a small excerpt but interesting
PLS Click link above ^
You can tell by Daisy’s rather normal looking hair during filming down times that she’s probably not donning any elaborate hairstyles in the film. Yep, just a Tatooine tomboy.
It’s the little cues you can pick up on.
The OT Empire was definitely racist,
However Lucas changed that after the fact, so now the Empire is not racist.
I kinda’ think the whole racism thing made the empire more evil.
Having Han and Lando and Chewie face off against the legion of white was cool.
As long as they don’t bring back Alderaan and explain that the Death Star isn’t as deadly as it’s cracked up to be.
Or make Han “politically correct” by shooting Greedo after letting the alien have first shot– oh, never mind.
“I kinda’ think the whole racism thing made the empire more evil.”
-_- <(Yeah… try not to spawn too much.)
Yeah, they looked like KKK. No black, no aliens…..it is new empire now. I HOPE WE’LL SEE more imperial soldiers and officers to be black, alien, women….it may turn to be good while the rebels could be evil….
So when did Stormtroopers start piloting TIE fighters? A Stormtrooper and TIE Fighter pilot are obviously different.
It is politically correct Empire now. Bewary to say something about continuity, you’re a racist anyway hahaha. We live in a time when not making black people or woman a knights in a medieval film will make you a racist, logic apart….
@ Tim Snow:
The Empire being all-white was always a visual symbol of Nazi Germany and Aryanism/”White Power”, not a stated idealogy of either Palpatine, Vader or the Empire. Therefore, if Disney decides to progress past that, even during those dark times before Episode IV, they won’t be contradicting the OT.
The Empire isn’t racist. It also isn’t sexist. As the times change, so does the situation, thank goodness.
Wow. One officer called Chewie a “thing”. I guess that means they don’t like black people. Strange how no one encouraged Vader to use a white man’s voicebox.
The other officer called those characters “scum” because they were bounty hunters, not because they weren’t white human men. Have you never heard of Dengar, the white Corellian bounty hunter? He was there, too.
Who cares if being racist makes a person or organization more evil? It would make EVERY person or organization more evil! However, the point here is that showing the Empire as being more socially progressive is not like “removing Jaws’ teeth” because racism was never a core tenet of their ideology. Shit, the first movie was all white people anyway (and only one main female), yet the villains still found a way to do bad things to them.
Beyond only showing white men in the Empire as a visual symbol of Nazi Germany’s Aryan supremacy mentality, it is never emphatically stated in any of the films that the Empire is either sexist or racist, so including females and minorities doesn’t count as a contradiction but rather a paradigm shift away from that symbolic visual.
And what the hell is a “real fan” anyway? I was born in late ’82 and was lucky enough to catch all three re-releases in ’97, but hey, I guess I fucked up by not being born in the ’60s-’70s.
The funny thing is that having seen the scene filmed in question, you guys are close but are so way off with what is and has happened – obviously the more that is not known leads the mind too wonder what the story is about,, I would like too share with you that the characters are not entirely true with the above scene description. There will also be a “nod” where Han shoots first, and says something like, “I always shoot first” to thunderous applause of the audience.
