The trailer they’re prepping is very celebratory. It’s basically 1:40 of scenes from ANHope juxtaposed with scenes from Ep9. Admittedly, the scene of Luke hugging everyone post DStar victory paralleled with Adam’s character doing the same (in the same orange jumpsuit) got more than a few of us emotional.
That being said, [Spoiler Caution]
It’s important to remember that Driver’s character is the young hero in this film, while his sister takes that role when he falls from grace, redeeming him by the third film.
Naturally, she has to undergo a change first. A loss, (I’m sure you all have an idea of who she and we, as an audience, lose) followed by epiphany, training, etc.

You are aware that no one can juxtapose images from a movie that hasn’t even got a start date for shooting?

Will this finally answer the question of what exactly Leia wore under her metal codpiece?
The costumes were actually a lot fancier in the prequels, more worthy of a book, but we know the game Disney’s playing.
Yeah, too fancy, like they belonged in another galaxy. Thanks anyway.
The PT costumes were obviously fancier because the prequels dealt with the elite of the galaxy whereas the OT focused on outcasts and rebels and took place in the shadows and in the outer rim territories. So yes, it looks like a different galaxy. In much the same way that Buckingham Palace, the halls of Congress, the Metropolitan Opera, or even the Vatican would look like a completely different world from any small rural town.
Fancy is the Hollywood default. It’s not impressive.

The Heroine Leia, the true reason for the ‘long living’ Hero’s journey of the OT. But how much of this dual nature is understood for the raising of the stakes in a sequel trilogy & not at best duplication?

The reason they are making a Book out of the Original Trilogy is because the OT costumes are iconic, 30 years later, they’re still iconic.
The Prequels have some good costumes, but they’re not instant classics. Time will tell how well the prequel looks stand.
It took them 30 years + a lesser-received prequel trilogy + a revived sequel before they got around to making a book about Luke’s fashion.
They’ll probably pop out the Prequel garb book when the Obi-Wan movie’s in post-production, mark my (a nobody’s) word.
