Force For Change: Thank You From The Force Awakens Crew!

SWFFC-LOGO

The Force Awakens crew, including J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy express their gratitude to everyone who donated for The Force For Change cause. Thank You!!!

From Omaze.com:

On behalf of the entire cast and crew of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thank you for contributing to UNICEF Innovation Labs and programs through Star Wars: Force for Change!

Because of your incredible support and a $1 million contribution from Disney to launch the campaign, we raised an additional $4.26 million that will now directly benefit UNICEF’s innovative, lifesaving programs that support children across the globe.

Because of YOU:

More children will have access to high-quality educational materials thanks to the portable, solar-powered learning kits being built in China, Uganda and Burundi.
More children will be reunited with their families after an emergency, thanks to a mobile phone application developed in South Sudan and used in the Philippines.
More families will receive rapid, critical medical test results for their infants through text messaging solutions created in Zambia.

This cause means the world to us, and we are so grateful for your generosity and support. Thank you!

May the Force be with You!

J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy

It’s because we can’t see the blue eyes of peter mayhew, the mask is not put correctly in the video.

Yeah true. Crew probably don’t wanna show us what he will actually look like until at least the next trailer on may 1 (:

That’s not the reason his eyes look weird (the blue eyes part I mean). Chewie looked the best he’s ever looked in the photo with Bob Iger and you couldn’t see the his iris’s in that photo either. Maybe, in practice, an aged Han Solo looked wrong next to a young looking Chewie? I hope it’s either that or a fluke in the clip rather than this being a sign of atrophied practical effects workmanship.

He was already 200 years old in A New Hope, so yeah, Wookiees DO age well. He looked like crap in Revenge of the Sith though. Bleh. He looks like his normal self here!

And i can tell you the really tall man in 0:16 probably is the new chewi. We all know Peter had serious leg problems and probably was not prepared to do some hard scenes.

The older guy who walks out with the black hexagons to his right- at 00.9 seconds – you can see the imperial lights that they have (vertical rounded end rectangles). Also looks like the top of the back end of the falcon to the left of him – it looks like the vertical fins on the roof around the engine area.

Did you not see at 0:10 some hexagonal canisters and just to the right, what looks like a TON of lightsabers? am I just dreaming here? or are these just acrylic tubes? ..probs just tubes… 😉

Yeah, much more closer to OT than what we saw in Ep3.
(Not prequel bashing… just stating a fact).

Thank you = I still haven’t received my gift for donating, Omaze.
The concept art gift is being sent out in January for whoever donated that amount. I obviously have no idea what it is but maybe it’s something we haven’t seen before. If it is or isn’t I’d expect someone to put it up on the internet around that time.

Amazing, great to know. I was wondering for what the paintball guns were, but they MUST be for this reason.

So who was the really tall guy with the eye makeup? Another Wookie or stunt double for Peter Mayhew?

This gave me the chills. I loved the 88 second teaser, but something about this just made it all seem more “real”. The music really helped too.

I’m a little bummed out that there weren’t any SW goodies behind JJ this time though… woulda been cool to see a stormtrooper or something like in the other force for change videos.

I did notice one thing though… that big electric box with red lights… it looks like what was on the pinewood set photos from a while back. To me that looks like the power supply unit for the lighting/

@ 0:09 in the video when the guy with glasses walk by you can see some type of imperial structure in the back (the vertical white lights)

@ 0:17 chebacca’s belt in the mirror reflection

DAMN, JJ looks worn out. I guess 7 months of shooting will do that.
