UPDATE! Warwick Davis Shows Selfies from Star Wars Weekends.

Warwick & Vader

During an appearance on ‘The One Show’ last night, Warwick Davis who was the last official cast addition to The Force Awakens, showed off a couple of selfies taken on the set.

From YahooMovies:

Warwick Davis Shows Off Darth Vader Selfie From Star Wars 7 Set

As excited as his affiliation with the sci-fi series obviously makes Davis, he refused to spill any details on the secretive blockbuster, but did share some snaps with presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones from his time on the Pinewood Studios set. .

The first with Darth Vader (above) might even be quite revealing. Darth Vader’s return (either in flashback or something much more shocking) was once rumoured, but it’s hard to believe Davis would have let such a big spoiler slip so easily.

The second snap (below) is of Davis with Chewbacca’s crotch, which really doesn’t bare thinking about. We already know that Chewie (and actor Peter Mayhew) are returning for the new film.

As Warwick we take this story with a huge smile on our face. 🙂

UPDATE!

As expected Warwick Davis revealed that these are not from The Force Awakens set but from Star Wars Weekends. He was just having fun.

    Indeed a very photogenic guy.

The first one looks like a cheap costume. Maybe it’s at a convention (and maybe that’s a VIP tag around his neck).

He should have taken a selfie next to Jar Jar Binks just to screw with the fans. How the internet would explode if Wicket the Ewok and Jar Jar became boys 30 years after ROTJ!

He’s winding everybody up, cos they are both very tall and he is short, so it would be a crotch shot….he has a great sense of humour, so to me it’s a wind-up

Indeed. That why I posted the last sentence.

That may be the first up-close shot I’ve ever seen of Chewbacca’s man-purse…

It’s called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

So, Indiana Jones and Chewbacca wear purses, big deal. It’s ok, they’re cool enough to wear shit like that if they want.

Hoping Darth Vader “suit-thing” is not true.
Let’s say it seems another suit’s charatcer or whatever…

That is not Darth Vader. He is resting his hand on the new lightsaber. See!

Either that is a Darth Vader suit on a highly poseable mannequin or that’s someone wearing the suit, I think it’s actually a person behind Warwick, but then again I would at all be surprised if one of the execs or JJ have a dressed up on their coffee-break.

I like Chewbacca’s satchel, he’s taking a more expedition-like approach to things, leaving the more War-mongering Bandolier to a younger generation.
Plus – Chewbacca was based off of Lucas’ dog, Indiana. So go figure…

Someone else who has a satchel? Gandalf the Grey [my all-time Hero]

Considering Vader is one of the greatest villains in Cinematic history, I hope his screen time is more than just a flashback. Am all for a Vader return/resurrection as long as its well explained and done in an intelligent manner.

Fuck NO! No Vader recycling will ever happen (in a numbered SW episode)

I suspect that a studio set probably has offices and break rooms etc. Wouldn’t surprise me if such rooms were decorated with Star Wars memorabilia such as Vader’s costume.

This is just a prop. Considering Star Wars has been filimg there since 1977, i am sure there is a ton of shit like this in the offices. That lightsaber was destroyed on the second death star. It probably a 1977 replica

How about young Vader adventures as one of the side movies. That’d be pretty cool.

Vader’s early, Jedi-hunting days would be a pretty sweet thing to see, indeed. It could even be set up nicely through the Rebels cartoon, as it’s set at about that time period.

OR maybe its Luke dressed up as Vader seems legit considering all the hype about Luke potentially turning to the dark side. The Lightsaber looks to be a similar style to Vaders but its not the same.

The Vader shot is definitely a mannequin dressed up like Vader. You can tell by the straight leg appearance of the pants., Even further proved by Vaders lightsaber which was destroyed in the destruction of the 2nd DS (*as mentioned above).

Warick is wearing a vip pas
(You can see the black cord)
*VADER is not in ep7*get real
He died in return of the jedi
    What flashbacks?…Nooooooooo
A dream?… yeah about your mother!
Force ghost…yeah sure and with a vader suit on that makes sense…errrr Not!!!!!

You phrase your update with “as expected”. If this is true, you did not make it very clear when you wrote the article. You gave the impression that you believed these were in fact from the set even though when Warwick Davis revealed these photos on the show he made no such claim whatsoever. It is apparent that there was no fact checking which would have been fairly quick and easy. Instead you just copy and paste someone else’s article even though it doesn’t hold up to the facts. Articles like this leave a bad taste.

That’s what the title of the source article at Yahoo Movies says. I’m reporting their story and giving my opinion. Many people were mislead by Yahoo’s piece.

It was obvious that Yahoo News had no idea what they were talking about. You barely offered an opinion. You even restated at the beginning of the article that the pictures were from the set. and if you think otherwise, why title the article with a statement that is obviously not true? It just feeds into bad reporting driven by click bait headlines.

That Picture was taken with the Disney resort Vader. Mannequin or not, the costume is wrong.
The Sabre is A New Hope Version.
    The Sabre is Upside down
    The Cod piece is incorrect
There is no pleating in the inner robe
    The gloves are not accurate
And the belt and belt boxes are not correct.

All hallmarks of a Disney resort Darth Vader I’m afraid.
