Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, and Kenny Baker Confirmed to be at Celebration VII.

Need another reason as to why you should visit this year’s Star Wars Celebration event? The talent behind three of the first Star Wars characters that we ever saw on screen are going to be there!

From StarWars.com:

When you can hide stolen Death Star plans, talk back to Grand Moff Tarkin, and win the heart of Han Solo, you’re kind of a big deal. So, StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that the sharp-shooting princess of a galaxy far, far away — Carrie Fisher — will return to Star Wars Celebration!

The legendary actress and author, who will reprise her role of Princess Leia in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will appear on stage and sign autographs in the Official Pix Autograph Hall (learn more about Official Pix below). Fisher’s participation leads a slate of exciting new announcements for Star Wars Celebration, April 16-19 in Anaheim, California — including the attendance droids you’re definitely looking for.

Anthony Daniels, who has portrayed C-3PO in all seven Star Wars movies, as well as the Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series, will meet fans, sign autographs, and appear on the Celebration stage. Kenny Baker, who played R2-D2 in the original trilogy, will also appear in the Autograph Hall. Whether they are carrying stolen Death Star plans is unconfirmed at this time. But StarWars.com can confirm that even more attendees and events are coming to Star Wars Celebration.

The update also confirms that autograph sessions will be back (with Carrie Fisher among those giving autographs), along with a tattoo pavilion. Many podcasts will also be hosted there. As I’ve mentioned before, I will be attending the event, and I hope to see you there!

I wonder if Leia, R2, and 3PO are not going to have big parts in VII.

Interesting that the article refers to AD as being in all 7 films but KB as only in original trilogy. I suspect that despite the original cast announcement for TFA including him KB doesn’t in fact get into the R2 suit for the new film.

It would be great if Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker could finally resolve their issues. Anthony Daniels was a thug and a bully who was extremely disrespectful to Baker. For his own conscience he should try and patch things up. I saw Kenny a few years ago and he wasn’t in the best of shape, life is too short to be bitter…excuse the pun.

I think it’s just Kenny Baker who has a problem with him. Does anyone know what actually happened? I don’t think the rest of the cast has a big problem with him.

They’re gonna need to balance out the list of featured guests if I’m gonna go. Way too many people from Rebels.

I tried looking up information on the Celebration website but does anyone know if the autograph sessions cost extra?

Yes, they do. And the cost goes up based on who you’re getting. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were $150 apiece, if I am remembering correctly. Also, the lines are very long… the wait for Hamill was something like 8 hours. Smaller actors have shorter lines and smaller costs.

I’m sure Disney recognizes the conundrum of the film opening many months after the celebration. After all, TFA will be THE Elephant in the room. It’s just bizarre that they’re marketing this event with classic trilogy themes.
