UPDATE! Battlefront Campaign, Release Date and More Announced.

battlefrontDICEStar Wars Battlefront released their trailer and EA has confirmed the Release date for Star Wars Battlefront as well as DLC and info on the Campaign…

According to eurogamer Star Wars Battlefront will have a maximum player count of 40 players

“DICE general manager Patrick Bach told Eurogamer Star Wars: Battlefront does not feature a campaign. Rather, it features “crafted missions” that are played solo, with a friend via split-screen offline or cooperatively online.

Elsewhere, Star Wars: Battlefront, due out in the UK on 20th November 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, has a maximum player count of 40. However, Bach told Eurogamer Battlefront will include a raft of modes that have different player caps.

During battles players can switch from a first-person perspective to a third-person perspective at will. DICE said you’ll also be able to customise your characters, choosing gear, weapons and abilities – although don’t expect to be able to put a pink cape on Darth Vader.

“There’s a two-player split-screen mode, and the Partner feature means two players can share experience and unlocks, and spawn at each other’s location.”

“Here’s a quote from design director Niklas Fegraeus: “You can storm in as the Dark Lord himself.

“You can wield a lightsaber. You can Force choke the rebel scum, which is fun. Basically, you are the boss of the battle. This means that you, as Vader, can lead your team to victory – if you play well.”

I think I`ve seen it now 150 times. But I don`t know what the record is to beat. No one has mentioned a bench mark or record to work towards. By end of today I will probably watch it another 20 to 30 times. I`ll be on 180.

Nobody has set a record or benchmark? Maybe it’s just you who has nothing better to do than watch game trailers all day. Some people have jobs and friends.

How do you know they aren`t watching it at work perhaps on a break, or on their phone while out with friends including showing it to them and family. Or watching it while killing time waiting for a meal to arrive at a restaurant or at the bus stop. What is it they say ? assumption is the mother of all f***ups.

It could have been raining heavy outside and they got soaking wet. Being so excited to read this this website they didn`t think to change. Or decided to change while reading.

Did he say free “steam” DLC?

Also- a tiny bit sad about the lack of single player campaign. Replaying missions on different difficulty isn’t usually fun for me. Still definately gonna pick it up and play it to death, but I don’t know if I’ll pick it up day one

So we can assume that the name of the desert planet we see in the trailer is “Jakku”, now we can put a name on that planet that isn’t Tatooine…

    Preordered 🙂

Sucks about the lack of space, but you never know, there was an air superiority mode with bf4 that came out later that featured air power only. Space could end up being an addon, but for how much?
Regardless i’m gonna enjoy it either way, it’s star wars 🙂

    No campaign mode?

So they’re gonna lower the price to $30 – $40, right? It’s missing half a game.

    …Right?

    …Goddamnit, EA.

So Boba Fett takes part in the Battle of Jakku! Even if it isn’t Jakku and is Tattooine, that battle takes place after the battle of Endor. SOOOOOOOO….That means that Canonically speaking, Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc pit?

It’s a huge mistake not doing a campaign mode. It’s the best part of the game, they’re dumb.

These damn consoles keep pushing the graphics over anything else. So instead of a bunch of features, they can only support ground combat because they’d blow up if they had to render space and ground. At least Free Radical’s looked good AND had a campaign, space to ground combat transitions (in-game), and of course everything else you’d expect out of a BATTLEFRONT game. Maybe Dice’s Battlefront 2 will have the features we’ve had 10 YEARS AGO!

Who cares about campaign mode? Have you guys played the other DICE games? Their focus is mutliplayer, and that’s where battlefield has excelled the most. The campaigns in those games were snore fests.
I’m sure there will be an awesome Star Wars FPS that will have a great “campaign”.

The most dissapointing news is to see the multiplayer matches will only have room for 40 players! The other Dice games have 64 max which is the way I like it. Hell… I’d say bump it up to 120 and let someone pilot a star destroyer & play commander while there’s still room for turret gunners.

I don’t understand how you are supposed to have huge, epic battles with only 20 players on a team. Who’s supposed to fly all the X wings & Ties/ Drive the ATST’s/ speeders?

It’s Star Wars, they don’t exactly have to work their asses off to tell a good story. They have plenty of source material to go off of. So only 40 players online on PC as well?!
