Nerdist: According to the IMDb, you’re in the new Star Wars movie.
Domhnall Gleeson: Yeah, yeah, I hope IMDb is right.
N: We are the Nerdist, so I’m going ask you what you can tell us about that. Or are you NDA’d up the ass?
DG: I mean, similarly NDA’d to Caleb in Ex Machina, it’s a similar thing. Yeah, man. All I can say is that I want to see the movie just as much as everybody else, and that I’m going in unburdened by the previous ones. I’m leaving all that behind and just going to take this one on it’s own merit. There was an excitement on set about getting to do this that was present everywhere, that I found very inspiring. I thought J.J. was wonderful. The love for the movie was everywhere. I hope when people see it, they have that love sparked. I think if they can do that, then we’ll be in a really good place. I hope that’s what happens.
As with some previous interviews with Oscar Isaac, you can definitely feel that this movie is being kept a secret, not only from the fans, but also from the actors and the people involved too.

Note how the same people keep being put in a position to be interviewed about star wars. Not that any of the characters with larger roles would give anything away but I think Gleeson is more of a supporting character.
These two are believing interviewed for the other movie they have coming out. The interviewers just keep squeezing in a Force Awakens question bc well it’s a more important film.
id think again if i was you, he is being kept well under wraps and out of the way, no way is he just supporting, same with serkis, these are MAJOR characters and the secrecy is tighter than a camels nostril.

Weve heard that the sith are abandoning the rule of two again, so I wouldnt be suprised to see at least three siths, and even more jedi considering they are the side left in a more prosporous position at the end of the ROTJ, like the guy above said, all these actors have new films coming out, and obviously star wars is the biggest fil of the year so they are gonna be the ones who we hear more from, dont rule out gleeson as a mahjor character because he hasnt said much, because going by that logic we would have no major characters in this film
meh, the rule of two was really stated in the prequils, and the new triliogy is looking to get away from that.
They keep interviewing Oscar Isaac also, and he seems to have no small role. I’d say Gleeson’s character is relatively important even if he has minimal screen time. He was in the initial cast photo after all.
Part of me thinks Gleeson is Kylo Ren and Driver is a Resistance X-wing pilot as a possible photo of him on set in a pilot suit suggests. Driver could be the Goose to Isaac’s Maverick. What if Gleeson is Ren and we find out that he is Luke’s son later in the trilogy or something? Maybe he was thought to be dead and there is a big reveal in the next film. This would explain an obsession with Vader as some rumors suggest. If you have become a Sith, who better to emulate than your own Sith Lord Paternal Grandfather? Just a thought. I think his character will be important though, whoever he is.

but yes, i think the whol adam driver thing is a smokescreen. was reading about the guy who took the picture of driver on greenham common yesterday and he was faced with lawsuits and allsorts as that one picture gave away a very secretive plot point and they were not happy about it. glesson..lukes son, gone nuts, obsessed with his grandaddy… im buying that.

I remember reading that Mark Ruffalo -a known Adam Driver’s friend- said he could recognize Adam under the guise of Kylo Ren by the complexion of his body and the way he walked and hold that lightsaber. Ruffalo says not being able to get anything directly from his friend but it was not difficult figure it out after seeing the first teaser trailer.
I thought Driver’s friend was Joel Edgerton?
Domhnall and Gwendoline are both over 6 ft tall…..could they be siblings? Luke’s twin offspring????

Especially considering actors real ages aren’t always used as their stage character. Gwendoline doesn’t look like she is 38 and could easily be shown as younger. Like 30ish. Just a thought. I don’t necessarily think she is the offspring of Luke but it would be plausible.
Maybe a child of someone else, like Vader or Palpatine?

“Rose” the alien is Luke’s wife. That’s probably why she was wearing a wedding ring in the last teaser when she’s handing the lightsaber to Leia.

gleeson has a general tarkin’esk cheek structure… just saying… more than likely he is luke’s son but if not there was a pic posted of him on here at one point that when i first saw it i though he could definitely pass for a tarkin offspring

It was created by team of fans. It was an actual prop from Lucasfilm, and I guess they just kept the name ‘Kira’ for their fan-prop.
Lol the only reason Gleeson and Isaac keep getting interviewed about Star Wars is because they both have a movie coming out right now. Any star wars actor who has to do press for a movie gets constantly hit with unrelated Star Wars questions. A few months ago, even Liam Neeson was having articles written every other day because he kept getting asked about returning as Qui-Gon Jinn during his press tours for Taken 3 and Ru All Night. Obviously Isaac has a major role in the film, seeing as how he’s one of the 3 main leads, but all rumors point to Gleeson’s role being rather small (except for the child of Luke rumor). It doesn’t matter how important the actor’s roles are, just the fact that they are in the new Star Wars movie is more than enough for any journalist to bombard them with questions for a click-bait article. If the number of interviews about star wars were actually correlated to the significance of an actors role in the film, Daisey Ridley and John Boyega would have a new interview everyday. The only reason they aren’t interviewed 24/7 is because they don’t have a movie coming out anytime soon which means no press tour. Once November hits and we see who Disney brings for the offical TFA press tour, then we’ll see who is actually significant to the movie.
I thought one of the earlier rumors was that Gleeson’s role in TFA was small but he was more prominent in episode 8.

Hm good theory of him being kylo ren and Luke’s son.I think that would be better than driver. What I wanna know is who the hell would luke have a kid with? Poor skywalkers never get to have a mother lol so Luke has got to be at least 60 in the film. I wish we could get an exact time as when it starts.
Something is telling me kylo ren is Gwendolin Christie the height and the way Kylo moves in the initial teaser plus she plays a sword wielder in Game of Thrones I could be way off here but hey ho!

Okay maybe everyone is related, or maybe just maybe not everyone in this movie is related. Any thoughts? I’m personally hoping it doesn’t end up being like the EU stuff. I don’t need “son of Star Wars” to keep it interesting for me. And preferably not please, I think it makes it seem lazy. Yes obviously someone’s going to have children but for crying out loud next we’re going to be speculating about Wicket’s kids
