LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Product Names Officially Confirmed!

Lego Star WarsA while ago, the code-names for seven LEGO products related to the vehicles of The Force Awakens got out. Now, a confirmation on what these sets are going to be named has just popped up.

The original sets were given the following code-names (via Brickset):

  • 75099 – “Lead Hero Craft”- £19.99
  • 75100 – “Villain Craft”- £39.99
  • 75101 – “Villain Star Craft”- £59.99
  • 75102 – “Hero Starfighter”- £69.99
  • 75103 – “Villain Transport”- £79.99
  • 75104 – “Lead Villain Vehicle”- £99.99
  • 75105 – “Hero Vehicle”- £129.99

Now, the official names are as follows (via Hoth Bricks):

  • 75099 Rey’s Speeder – 193 pieces – € 29.99
  • 75100 First Order Snowspeeder – 444 pieces – € 54.99
  • 75101 First Order Special Force Tie – 517 pieces – € 76.99
  • 75102 Poe’s X-Wing Starfighter – 717 pieces – € 99.99
  • 75103 First Order Transporter – 792 pieces – € 114.99
  • 75104 Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle – 1,004 pieces – € 129.99
  • 75105 Millennium Falcon – 1332 pieces – € 164.99

Lead Villain

Nothing really surprising here; we’ve seen nearly all of these ships in the first and second teasers. One thing of note is that Rey’s vehicle was code-named as belonging to the “Lead Hero”, which strongly suggests that she is, in fact, the central hero of the film as many have suspected. I have to wonder if that Special Force TIE is a different model than the standard one with the new paint-job (which is seen throughout the second teaser). I presume that all (or most) of these sets will be readily available come September 4/5, while more sets will come out closer to the release of the film.

Thanks to The Cantina member MagnarTheGreat as always for making this find.

Keep in mind, those aren’t in USD.

Also, LEGO are generally overpriced – that’s just the name of the game.

Yes, even more in USD! I love Star Wars, I really do, but it’s such a cash cow for many large companies. What child in a poor country could ever afford one of those toys?

I Bought the Lego Star destroyer (Item Code: 75055) which was 1359 Pieces and cost £79.99 3-4 years ago on amazon. Which is 109.03 Euro currently.

Compare that to the closest set with a similar amount of pieces 75105 Millennium Falcon – 1332 pieces – €164.99/£121.05/$186.19

The same ISD now though is £110-£120 so really it isn’t always the companies, just capitalism and inflation in general. Booo! 🙂

Nonono… those prices must be wrong. Theyre definitely wrong. No x-wing costs 99 €, max 69. Ties always costed 49 €, and you cant tell me that a speeder that might feature two minifigs costs 19! those prices are terribly wrong. thats it.

LEGO is not overpriced. You pay for higher quality standards and the lower yield because of that. That’s what you pay for. But you’re sure that every piece will fit perfectly.

It’s Lego. All of their Star Wars licensed sets cost a decent amount. Overall – it’s worth it, especially for the resale value on these things. These prices in Euros will not reflect the cost of the sets in the US in dollars. I’m going to assume the following costs:

      Rey’s Speeder – 19.99
      First Order Snowspeeder – 39.99
First Order Special Force Tie – 49.99
      Poe’s X-Wing Starfighter – 69.99
      First Order Transporter – 79.99
      Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle – 99.99
      75105 Millennium Falcon – 129.99

SW sets are usually at 10 cents per piece. Pretty typical.

      @Fee Fee

If people don`t pay those prices how can the bosses have their new swimming pools in their luxury condos ? or executives travel in their private jets. They will have to have smaller pools and travel 1st class not upper luxury class. Please spare a thought for them how would you like it if you had to downgrade your pool size. Imagine how you`d feel knowing you can`t have the optional heated jacuzzi installed because people won`t pay those prices. How will they be able to afford to buy their children luxury sports cars on their 18th birthday, if they don`t charge those prices. Its not fair you know spare a thought for these people. How will they sleep at night knowing they will have to downgrade to a Lexus instead of a Lamborghini if they don`t charge those prices. Please think of the anguish they would have to endure when realizing this. Imagine the sleep the would loose at night knowing they would have to downsize their mansion because of the prices being too high. My heart bleeds just thinking about it. Poor souls. Better we increase all those prices by 5% even better ask the employess to take a pay cut.

The fact she even has her own vehicle and Finn does not is a good sign that she’s the main character. That and the fact that it makes no sense for the story to center around Finn when it’s Rey’s planet and people under attack.

Until now I was not sure who was going to be the lead (that is, the Jedi – let’s face it, the trilogy lead is/will be a Jedi). It seems very clear that due to this information but also due to the fact that Finn doesn’t have a listed ship that it will indeed be Rey who wields the force.

Not a surprise that Finn does not have a vehicle of his own, he is supposedly a storm trooper at the start. He probably got rides from the First Order everywhere he went.

Personally, I want Rey to be the hero because my 11 year old daughter and I will probably see the movie together and I want her to see a strong woman lead. I think it’s great that Finn will also be a hero.

Han Solo was not the “lead hero” of Star Wars but his character was so awesome that it really helped make the movies as popular as they are. We need a strong team or friends to relate to, to bounce dialog off of each other, to root for. I am hoping that Rey/Finn/Poe and whoever else can do that well…. If the movie really is as character based as we are being lead to believe.

We need to see real emotion, humor, frustration, etc., not the plastic acting we’ve see in other movies. Who the lead hero is, is less important than actually being able to care about the hero.

There so quick to announce felicity Jones as the main character in the spinoff films but not tell us who the main character is of the Force awakens. And lastly no ones really wants to talk about Finn in the same light as ray, did he have a family if so want happend to them? If ray is the lead hero then fine but why all the hate and quick dismissal of possibly becoming a JedI?

I have a feeling Finn will be in the middle of a battle with Kylo ren and will get his butt kicked. Rey picks up the lightsaber and stands toe to toe with Ren, SHE will be the next Luke Skywalker of her time!

1.533 is the multiplication number to get U.S. dollars. But don’t forget also that these are high price retailers! I remember $12.99 action figures at higher price retailers were $9.97 at less expensive stores such as a Walmart. Keep shopping around and wait for lower prices.

I will never take the fans who turned their back on George Lucas seriously. Just plain ungrateful.
That’s an incredibly fallacious statement. You wouldn’t say the same about a wife staying with her cheating abusive husband just because he made her happy decades ago. Lucas hasn’t made a film that’s had a positive reception really since Return of the Jedi in 83. That Warrick Davis movie, Howard the Duck, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Crystal Skull, Red Tails, and that new animated film all had negative to flat out terrible receptions- to the point Howard the Duck has a cult following for being so bad.

The only two accessions to this are The Last Crusade in 89 (which was also a Spielberg film released in his prime) and Revenge of the Sith (which is still very controversial amongst fans).

The fact is there are two types of people who like the prequels:

    1. People who see the genuine high points of these films- that everyone should really acknowledge, regardless of their preference on the final product.
    2. People who will like anything Star Wars regardless.

As well there are two type of people who dislike the prequels:

    1. People who see genuine flaws in these films- that everyone should acknowledge, regardless of their preference on the final product.
    2. People who hate anything new.

See both extremes are bad and are a result of one not thinking for themselves.

The cons that are impossible to dispute beyond the “lala I’m not going to listen to you” defense:

The films had terribly written dialogue.
They were not structured in a traditional sense- which many consider to be a standard used to judge a movie’s quality.
The shot composition and direction was lazy and none of the exposition is given through action or communication during events, it’s given in conversations taking place as the actors slowly pace around or sit down on a couch.
Everything is shot in shot reverse shot
The outline of events from the original trilogy is called into question
Lucas horribly directed the Oscar winner Natalie Portman and the decent Hayden Christensen, while only allowing classically trained actors he respected (Christopher Lee and Ian McDirmott) to challenge him.

The pros that are impossible to dispute beyond the “lala I’m not going to listen to you” defense:

    Ian McDirmott as the Emperor
    Darth Plagueis the Wise’s story
    The duel of fates
    The Space Battle in Sith
    Ewan McGreggor as Obi-Wan
    CGI Yoda
    The ground breaking CGI effects
The guys who played most of the extras and minor characters in Phantom Menace
    Zod as Valorem
    Darth Maul

People who defend these movies get way too defensive. I find it impossible to believe a grown man who’s ever been on a successful date or has laid with a woman actually thinks the love story in Clones was engaging or anything short of uncomfortable. I find it hard to believe anyone though the shot choreography was interesting or inspired. I find it hard to believe none of these criticisms strike a cord with any of you.

Look no one is saying you guys can’t like these movies, I also think people who say anything negative about any of the good qualities I listed are not simply being closed minded. The point is there’s legitimate criticism to be made and you can recognize these flaws without changing your stance that you like these movies. Too many people take constructive criticism as some sort of personal affront to their livelihood.

Darth Plagueis story sounded like it was conceived by a 3rd grader
The space battle at the beginning of RotS was heartless CGI nonsense
CGI Yoda was truly awful, fake, cartoony, etc (ep.1 puppet was better)

Woah, check out the even-keeled grounded hypothesis here! I salute your bravery!

Seriously, I mostly agree with your attitude.
I do think the beginning battle was pretty silly though.
When the clone troopers die, you don’t give a shit, and neither does Obiwan.
And those friggin’ buzz-droids, like, ugh. hate those guys, hate fighting them, hate watching them, hate that they exist period.

Also the CG Fight Choreography was way too cartoonish.
90 year-old Saruman doing a backflip over a railing: Cracks me up every time.

That said, the OT had it’s hiccups too.

      C3PO and R2 um- crossing a fire-fight in a small hallway, at snail-pace, unscathed.
      LOL.

However, the OT’s hiccups were charming.
Pt hiccups have a propensity to make a small part of me die.
Hence my hatred of the buzz-droids.
PT guys think Ewoks are bad.
      I think Buzz-droids are bad.

      The circle is now complete…

Some have said this confirms Rey as the lead. It definitely confirms her as “a” lead. If we had a Finn vehicle that just said plain “hero” like Poe’s ship then we could say that – but it’s possible that he is also considered a lead hero. Without a Finn product name it’s hard to tell. Most films do only have one character considered as the lead, but it is possible to also have two leads of equal measure and importance to the film.

Agreed, people are putting too much stock in the placeholder names the LEGO used. What IF Rey’s Speeder comes with Rey AND Finn minifigs? Oh snap!
and it’s called “Rey’s Speeder” because the speeder does belong to her and not Finn but “Rey’s Speeder Playset with co-Lead Hero Finn minifig” is an absurdly long name for a LEGO set.
