UPDATE! Leaked LEGO Star Wars Product Lists for The Force Awakens and More.
A recent leak of next year’s LEGO Star Wars products has revealed a number of interesting details about the movie, including the name of one of the planets. Furthermore, there are new lines of LEGO toys that expand beyond The Force Awakens, with new sets based on existing canon works.
From MintInBox (loosely translated):
Once again, MintInBox’s Bothan spies have recovered some valuable information – we will now unveil the complete list of upcoming LEGO sets in early 2016. Of course, many of these are tied to The Force Awakens, (with some new info about the movie), but Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Battlefront will also be getting sets. This includes:
– 6 new Microfighters sets: 2 for The Force Awakens and 4 for Star Wars Rebels (AT-DP, The Ghost, Prototype TIE Advanced, and Wookiee Gunship).
– 2 sets for The Force Awakens: “Battle on Takodana” and “The Pirate Transport”.
– 2 Battle Pack sets based on The Force Awakens: a “Hero” and “Villain”.
– 2 Battle Pack sets inspired by Star Wars Battlefront respectively themed after the Empire and the Rebel Alliance.
– 6 new Construction figures.
– 4 sets of the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy (Hoth Attack, Bespin Carbon Freezing Chamber, Droid Escape Pod, and Obi-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor).
As you can see, we have just discovered the name a new planet in The Force Awakens – “Takodana”.
Given that the packs are slated to be released after The Force Awakens comes out, it is highly likely that “Takodana” is the name of the snow planet. Other information that can be gleaned from this is that the Battlefront IP will have a marketing tie-ins and that the characters of Rebels might visit Kashyyyk at some point in Season 2.

Grant has been a fan of Star Wars for as long as he can remember, having seen every movie on the big screen. When he’s not hard at work with his college studies, he keeps himself busy by reporting on all kinds of Star Wars news for SWNN and general movie news on the sister site, Movie News Net. He served as a frequent commentator on SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast.
What do you mean by “confirms?” Where was that name given before?
I worded that oddly. I should say that it suggests what a new planet name will be.
lol there’s always a critic
I love that the authors come into the comment section here, even if to discuss odd wording. That’s very stand up like. I’m a trained journalist, among other credentials, and I always preach engagement as a powerful public relations tool.
“Suggest” and “confirm” are pretty different, man.
People take too much away from the Oscar Issac Yavin 4 comment. He was talking about Guatemala where they filmed the landscape. I’ll bet you $10 bucks that if Takodana is real, it’s Maz’s planet, and the snow planet is either the previous Ryoome or something else entirely. There’s no chance the Empire lost the Death Star at Yavin and didn’t come back and destroy that place later. Also, if there is a civilian population on Yavin, given it’s history, it would be terribly irresponsible for the Resistance to set up there.
Yeah. Takodana sounds way too exotic for a snowy planet.
Also, Wookiee Gunship in Star Wars Rebels? Kashyyyk anyone?
I think a similar set was made back when the show was in Season 1. They’ve already set up the Wookiees, so I think they will go to the planet eventually.
I’m excited to see what they’ll do with the show now that they’ve got a larger budget and cast of characters to work with.
They met up with some sort of ship at the end of spark of rebellion to deliver the wookies they rescued. It may have looked similar to the drop ships used in AotC.
“Tako” means octopus in Japanese, fyi.
The names Takodana and Maz Kanata seem to share a kind of similarity in sound.
Plus, a pirate transport (ship) is listed together with the Takodana battle set suggesting the connection.
Takodana and Kanjiklub sound pretty blatantly Japanese to me.
Apparently “Takoda na” translates to “That’s octopus”, lol.
Tako also means “kite” in Japanese. … just saying.
“Takodana” roughly translates to:
“Now THIS is podracing.”
;o)
As for ‘kanjiklub’, in Hungarian the phrase sounds really funny because ‘klub’ means ‘club’, ‘kan’ refers to ‘male’, so it can stand for ‘men’s club’. 🙂
It’s not consistent with Japanese phonotactics though. Too many consonant clusters. However, I admit it does sound superficially Japanese.
Yeah, SW has a long tradition of using Japanese words for stuff:
“Kami no …” means “… of wind” – or alternatively “…of God”,
also sounds like “Kimono” – “wear thing”, a dress-robe that dudes and chicks wear [remind you of anyone?]
Edo Jidai historical period – which sounds suspiciosly like “Edo Jedi”, a mistake that temporarily made Japanese history sound cooler.
the list goes on – i think – I’ve run out of Japanese vocabulary, I’ll have more examples ready in 6 months…
As for Kamino, the famous El Camino del Rey can be mentioned as well. (road/path of the king)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcczjFRcVcU
In Spanish, “Taco” means… err…umm…”Taco”.
Thanks for the Google search info concerning the Japanese word tako (sarcasm). What does Takodana mean? …Nothing. But let me guess…So although the snow planet looks like Hoth it is not Hoth. &, oh yeah, the desert planet covered in moisture vaporators is not Tatooine… it’s Jakku because of the battle of Jakku that occurred there.
I guess if someone whom actually lives on Tatooine where to somehow get there hands on a book (or data tape) on the battle of Gettysburg they would surely assume the information came from the planet Gettysburg.
The snow planet is Hoth, the desert planet we’ve seen from the beginning of the leaked TMZ images is Tatooine. Jakku is an area of Tatooine as Gettysburg is an area of the planet Earth. Are we tracking yet, Star Wars fans??
Sounds like something’s been bugging you for awhile. Seems to me that many people who made the movie came out and specifically stated “this is NOT tattoine, it’s a planet called jakku”. Apparently you’re a few months behind bro.
Dammit…I though “Prochainement” was a great planet name for a minute there !
Really not digging any of the new trilogy names at all. Even worse than the PT ones. I wonder how you even pronounce it?
What do you think makes a good Star Wars name? I’m genuinely interested. Personally, I like everything we’ve gotten except Snoke.
Agreed. I didn’t like most of them at first, but all of them grew on me. Particularly Kylo and Jakku. I still dislike Snoke and Hux, but I think thats because for something to feel “Star Wars” to me I have to imagine it alive in the universe. We have seen most of our new crew in action but Snoke sounds silly out of context so I need to see it attached to a memorable moment in a star wars film
Exactly. It’s weird to say these names without any way if seeing it in film. It’s gonna be cool to see someone say kylo ren. We got like a month away from force Friday I’m gonna be broke after that lol
Very easily
Yes, Grant, what is a good make up name????
The whole world is waiting for your answer…
Hello?
We’re still waiting.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with Naboo, Coruscant, Geonosis. You sir, see everything wrong with the prequels. If I told you the air in the room you’re in was influenced by the prequels, I bet you’d fall on the ground choking and holding your throat.
So THAT’S how Vader does it!
I do believe you haves replied to the wrong comment 🙂 for I openly like the prequels and above that am not named “Grant” 😛
Technically, Coruscant isn’t from the prequels, its from Heir to the Empire
Love how the names of the OT characters get built in immunity from criticism when SW names have always been out there or odd.
yess! obi wan’s jedi interceptor! I was waiting for that since the release of anakin’s
I think Takodana is a fast food joint on Jakku.
Just gonna shoot some womprats, then head over to Takodana’s if ya fancy it later?
Takodana could go either way with the snow planet or the forest/jungle planet where Maz Kanata’s castle is at.
We know there’s some kind of battle on both.
– The Snow Planet battle seems to be more in space, with Han, Chewie, and Finn going there to rescue Rey and disable shields/defences.
– The Jungle Planet Battle looks to be between Stormtroopers and pirates with some heavy firepower being used to wreck Maz’s Castle.
Takodana does sound a little more exotic in my opinion…
On the subject of toys all I want to know is when the Black Series Kylo Ren figure is coming out.
Are they coming out with a 12 inch figure of Rey and Finn? I’d like to include them to my collection along with Obi Wan, Anakin, and Amidala.
Is ‘Takodana’ pronounced ‘taco’ like Taco Bell?
I’m guessing it’ll be pronounced “TAY-ko-na-da” or “TAY-kon-NAY-da”. Just because the “taco” jokes write themselves otherwise.
take her down now?
Sorry, Pomojema do you suffer from dyslexia, per chance? If so, you have my sympathies.
‘TakoDANA’ is not the same as ‘TakoNADA’
Grow up

Either way it makes me hungry.
or “Taco Donna” (a woman with a penchant for tacos)
Desert planet.
Looks like Tatooine. Feels like Tatooine.
Isn’t Tatooine.
Snow planet.
Looks like Hoth. Feels like Hoth.
Isn’t Hoth.
Oh Jay Jay. Let’s hope we’ll never have to call you Jay Jay Binks.
Assuming that the planet on this poster (below) is the snow planet, it seems to have a lot more water than Hoth. Also, if it’s the same snow planet from the first teaser, it also has forests. Poster: https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/5w4yGiihiE9re6xDqn0rt5HX5Qg=/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/3612734/star-wars-the-force-awakens-poster-03_534.0.jpg
we still haven’t had an official release of those posters. i suspect a lot of people will be disappointed when they finally get their release and people have seen the whole thing except the logo haha
How do you mean? The posters were released @ Star Wars celebration… they would be hard to “fake” as they contain images not seen prior to teaser 2.
Very clever to recall that poster… I mean I always saw that planet there but just never bothered paying attention to it. Very cool!
they weren’t ‘releaseed’, they were leaked. we still haven’t seen the entire full-size posters with logo.
Maybe they used to be Tatooine and Hoth, but they were re-named by the First Order.
JJ has no imagination, no originality what’s the point of having different planets in the movie, that are virtually the same as what we have seen before, there’s a whole galaxy to explore.
I don’t know why he does it, but I suspect he does it for the same reason people keep watching superhero marvel movies, whose plots all look the same now.
It’s easy to come up with an original alien planet, if you can’t then you should probably not be directing a movie that should have literally thousands if not millions of strange planets.
maybe Larry Kasdan (writer of ESB and Raiders of the Lost Ark) named them. or maybe they were suggested in Lucas’ outlines. get over yourself, man.
It’s a good job the setting is in a galaxy far, far away or you could bet ole JJ would have earth in the mix somewhere.
Lenzzflarom
Yeah, I hate how Jupiter is basically the same as Neptune except for that they made the stupid ring bigger and renamed it. Same gas giant rehash.
But in all seriousness…We have seen in star wars so many biomes:
-A Forest Planet
-A City Planet
-A Desert Planet
-A Swamp Planet
-A Rock Planet
-A Snow Planet
-An Ocean Planet
-A Temperate/tropical Planet
-A Lava Planet
We have covered all the biomes at this point…does JJ have to invent a new one for every planet? Just because we haves seen a scene of desert doesn’t make something tatooine any more then a scene of (very forested) snow make something hoth. And even if it did, can’t two planets look similar? As you say- its a big galaxy to have only ONE planet of each type.
Yes more than one planet can look alike, but it still shows lack of imagination.
You could have a planet with all kinds of alien plant life never envisaged before.
Landscapes totally mind blowing in scale and form.
I actually sort of agree with you on this point… I’m tired of having planets with Earth trees in most sci-fi’s.
Bespin has been the most exotic I’ve seen so far.
Nolan’s “interstellar” had a pretty cool idea for a world (thousands of layers of frozen clouds).
Cameron tried to go the route of inventing new plant life for “Avatar” by hiring plant life experts… but it seems like no matter what you do we are always biased because we only have Earth to draw from as a visual reference.
To JJ’s credit though… into darkness intro had a red tree planet… the construction of the trees took many months. But still… it’s f-ing trees!
I do remember reading about a planet who’s gravitational forces were so strong that it’s composed entirely out of diamond… that would be a cool world to see if you could survive it.
And JJ called the planet Nibiru, how very original.
How about a planet with fantastic auroral displays in the night sky, multi coloured clouds, blue snow,a whole city built in an enormous mountain.
A city that moves to stay ahead of the terminator (Not Arnold).
Pssst…JJ didn’t write Into Darkness.
He was the director he could of said “pst change the name of that planet” as well as all the other stupid things that were in that movie like steel I beams with rivets and an engine room made out of old boilers..I didn’t know the Enterprise ran on steam.
I think the desert and snow locations as well as others in the film exist because they wanted to use less CGI and give it a more OT feel. If you look at the OT it is the same: ANH had Tatooine and Yavin…ESB had Hoth, Dagobah, and Bespin…ROTJ revisted Tatooine and Dagobah and sent us to Endor. All of these locales are similar to earth (you could argue about Bespin since the planet itself is a gas giant, but from what we saw in the film, a “city in the clouds” feels very earth-related). Dagobah even had earth creatures like lizards and snakes. The PT is what gave us a lot of the exotic locations that are a part of SW. I think the fact that they are trying to bridge the OT-ST gap plays in to the use of these types of locations in episode VII. I wouldn’t be surprised to visit some more exotic CGI heavy locations in 8 and 9.
Are you forgetting Felucia?
ANd a Lava planet.
Lucas tried more exotic planets in the prequels, unlike anything that could be on Earth, then he gets criticized for things looking to fake or CG. Abrams goes back to more practical and monochrome planets, he then gets criticize for using the same type of planets as we’ve seen. Geez they cannot win no matter what they do.
It’s a code name for Jakku
it’s actually a codename for Kira/Rose.
Wow! MSW and TFN are really nailing it! SARCASM
Couldn’t Tokodana just as easily be a ship or a mountain or a landmark of some sort?
Interesting point… like Mos Eisley.
Tacodana… not bad as far as planet names go.
I considered this as well. I think it is most likely a planet though. I would think if it was on a ship it would say “The” Takodona. Or if Takodona was a city it would say “in” Takodona.
Probably the Planet at the end of the movie. Everyone’s battling there. You got X-Wings skimming on water, you got Kylo Ren killing Han Solo and dueling against Finn & Rey.
Not sure how Takodana can be the Snow planet.
Especially when the current speculation is Maz on Yavin.

Notice how the sets are referred to as “INT Pirates Cove” while also referring to Massassi Temple sets
It’s also possible Takodana is the name of the planet assumed to be Yavin itself or even a locale on Jakku.
Takodana is a System…
Takodana’s not a system. He’s a man.
It’s a Trap!
IT’S A RAP!
too many “NEW” stuff
Maz Katana from Takodana. It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
Except it’s Kanata…
The question is; does Takodana REALLY appear in the film? or is it a 5-second environment that flashes by in a montage – a la Seleucami that “appeared” “in” ROTS?
http://www.rebelscum.com/TAC/tacBPsaleucamicomp1.jpg
nice toys though! those get way more screen-time in my mind’s eye than their “real” counterparts “in” the film.
to reiterate, is Takodana IN the film – FOR REAL?
I bet those Legos are hurting aye? Jay Jay?
And there ain’t nothing you can do to stop it.
I Can’t Wait to see The Force Awakens!!!!!
I am ready for some real news.
I don’t care what sort f planet, i want to see han solo and chewie in a fight, i want to see a lightsaber duel with luke skywalker, i want han and leia picking on eachother, i want c3po and r2d2 not getting along… I want starwars! Pffff, my life would be so much different if disney didnt buy lucas, so strange….
Han and Chewie would never fall out.
You know what sounds like good Star Wars planet name? Lothal. Seriously, they need to bring Dave Filoni onboard the film side in some aspect, as a producer would be great, or at least just give him some story input. Maybe have him do a polish of the scripts. Something! The guy just understands Star Wars, and is a fantastic creator. Rebels is superb, and The Clone Wars cartoon was literally the best thing to come out of the Prequels.
Sounds like the local brothel,I wonder what their main trade is.
Jewel, self explanatory, what a wonderful world this could be.
I believe Takodana is Tattoine.
Holy Yoda, stop misspelling Tatooine!!
Endur is cooler anyway.
Takodana is the jungle planet. When lego does battle packs they try to focus on on-screen battles involving two factions, wich might in this case be the pirates vs the first order stormies. If they focus the battlepack on abattle they might be focusing other sets… one of the wich could be the battle of takodana set
Just watch there will be toys for TacoBell
like there was for PizzaHut.
Are these new on set photos?? http://m.imgur.com/a/rPZVO
They are from the comic-con reel… except someone has been added in that 2nd picture. That stormtrooper with the moustache is not there in the original.
He comes from the planet Mustaphatache.
And JJ comes from Mettaluna.
hm
I don’t give a crap about Legos!
Some do. I myself have a son who is very interested in the SW Lego toys. But the main reason I think they are posting these articles and updates about the toy releases is for the tidbits (character names, locations etc.)that we can glean from it. For instance, we know there is a location in TFA now named Takodano and a group of characters that belong to a “kanjiklub gang”. Not big revelations, but still, with the tight lips from J.J. and co. we’ll take what we can get.
I only hope that the lack of “juicy” news recently is indicative of some big scoop from the upcoming Disney expo…..

This new Star Wars, i’m not sure what to think about it…in particular this colored actor, john boyega.
This boy doesn’t seem like a worthy replacement for mark hamill.
And I’ve never been particularly fond of coloreds in movies, so I’m a little concerned about TFA.
Boyega isn’t supposed to be a replacement for Mark Hamill. He doesn’t play Luke Skywalker you know. Also you can keep your racist bs to yourself. So uncivilised.
The Star Wars universe is filled with powerful villains of all shapes and sizes including Sith Lords, bounty hunters, and gangsters. Lucasfilm may have gone Order 66 on the Star Wars Expanded Universe but here s why Clone Wars and Rebels are must-see shows in preparation for Episode 7.
