A Better Look at the New Elite Trooper from Star Wars: The Force Awakens (and a Chrysler Connection!)
A much higher resolution photo with the Elite Speeder Bike toy from The Force Awakens, gives us a much better look at a new type of menacing trooper and where we could possibly see him in the movie.
POTENTIAL MILD SPOILERS AHEAD!
Here’s a much better look at the Elite Speeder Bike and The Assault Walker toys from The Force Awakens (click the images for bigger versions):
The photos on the side of the boxes are much more interesting though:
As you can see both troopers appear to operate in a jungle like terrain. This is most likely the planet where Maz Kanata’s castle is located. The BTS footage showed us a quick glimpse at an action sequence taking place there, so probably expect these guys to be involved in it. I won’t be surprised if we see another speeder bike chase (like from ROTJ) in the jungle. As you remember the cast and crew filmed for a few weeks in Puzzlewood, which will most like stand for the jungle around Maz Kanats’a castle.
Also one of our friends on Twitter noticed something really curious about the appearance of the Elite Trooper. As you probably remember a few weeks ago it was announced that Fiat Chrysler will be part of the Star Wars marketing force. As you know Dodge is part of that family, and here’s an interesting connection between the two:

Also a few days ago we showed you several other toys, which clearly showed that there will be a chase sequence on Jakku as well (HERE). Speed chases have always been an important part from Star Wars, and it’s quite possible that we will be getting two of them in TFA. One in the desert (like in the PT) and one in the forest/jungle (like in the OT). How cool is that? 🙂

Will these toys even actually appear in the movie? The label ‘The Force Awakens’ doesn’t seem to be on these boxes.
I noticed that as well. I’m thinking it might just be something to fill up the shelves. Think of all the stuff we bought as kids that weren’t in the films, but came from books/comic/games, or were simply created just for selling.
Earlier post that showed the height comparison between Phasma and the regular storm trooper was also missing a TFA logo and we know both of them are in the movie from the teasers.
I’ve been thinking the same thoughts since leaks of the toys first appeared.
finally some people get it overhere… 🙂
these are just commercial toys and won’t appear in the movies
Don’t they have enough new characters/vehicles in movie that they don’t need to make up stuff that’s not in the movie?
They need more small vehicles, they can sell for less money (not so hard to understand right)
you are so dumb if you think these are in the movies…
Seeing that none of us here have seen the movie it’s interesting to me how some people on here speak about what is or is not in the movie…

Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose.
That’s pretty cool.
Maybe we as fans can agree that JJ is combining the best of the OT and PT? how cool would that be.
No he is ignoring the prequels because they suck. This movie is obviously infusing something new into what was great about the originals.
The PT was an example of what not to do.
It still had some really great stuff in it. Blindly hating it is very foolish.
Sadly, our hate isn’t blind. We saw those movies. :’C
hahahahahahaha
The bad far outweighs any good.
Sigh, another irrational and delusional PT hater/basher who acts like his opinion is everyone else’s opinion (also in trying to state his opinion like if they were facts and trying to force their opinions onto others) and also likes to act like he’s in the majority though various statistics out there show that he’s really in the minority. Also, many of them end up grasping for straws in their arguments that it get to a point where they become hypocritical (with some just having misguided feeling of nostalgia); I’m not saying that all of their opinions are unsubstantiated and unfair, but many PT haters’ opinions end up going into that territory.
What else is new? Lol
What’s not up for debate is the fact that the Prequel Trilogy sorely missed the deft touch of G.Walton’s former wife, Marcia Lucas. And her balls. She was one of the few who had the huevos to tell him when to shove it and when to insist on certain things being left alone… like Leia’s kiss on Luke’s cheek. G. Walton hated that and tried to remove it. Ask any female fan and I bet they will say that would have been stupid.
The OT had many endearing scenes, how many are there to be found in the Prequels? Is there even one? Heck, I still can’t believe that Mamma Skywalker failed to kiss her son goodbye… so lame!!
Its not blind hate to say the PT sucked when one is well-informed.

Even better:

Ah another PT apologist blindly grasping at flashy accusations without any substance to back them up (Much like the PT). While your nostalgia for the PT is ultimately understandable, it doesn’t make the PT actually good.
They were poorly written, poorly directed, poorly acted films over-saturated with sub-par CGI and filled with far too many instances of tone deaf outdated racism.
So you can keep on attacking people for simply giving their opinion that they did not like the PT (Because it was objectively terrible), but it doesn’t matter, they won’t some how become good movies. While we all hold our breath for the ST, at the very least we can rest assured that all of the people involved in making the ST are extremely determined to not allow these new movies to make the same mistakes as the PT and so they will at least be just above the PT in quality. And that should make any Star Wars fan happy.
I’m a huge fan of PT. Did it do everything right, no. But neither did OT. Thus PT hate is lame. It’s very much like a click in high school. Follow along guys.
Lol what did it do right?
I bet you have copies on your shelf though.
I have history books on my shelf, too. Doesn’t mean I want those events repeated.
That’s a ridiculous comparison. Here’s what I’m getting at. If you don’t like them, why did you pump money into it? It’s called a “dollar vote” for a reason. I HATE HATE HATE this new canon that is being established by the cartoons and comics because it diminishes the films (yes the OT most of all in my opinion). Therefore, it gets none of my money.
Anon 19:29…you just fed the machine you said you hated.
The new canon doesn’t diminish the film’s any more than the old canon EU did.
There’s only one aspect that I can think of off the top of my head in the new canon that could be considered bad. That’s Sansa Solo be shoe horned into the story. Although, we still don’t know much about her.
the PT showed exactly what not to do movie-wise with the Star Wars saga, but seeing the the opening battle of RotS on a big screen made my stomach turn upside down, it was a fantastic experience.
story-wise, it didn’t make much sense, but it was fantastic to behold (until the buzz-droids came.) If I can see something half as cool as that space battle in TFA, I’m a happy man.
The PT had a lot of things wrong with it, but it’s still Star Wars and I’ll still watch the movies once in a while, just to cringe at the complete CGI backgrounds, but some things are still really cool.
‘Story-wise’ is one of the few areas where those film succeed actually. Lucas developed a deeper, more cohesive, and yes, more mature story with those films, and took a real storytelling risk with Anakin’s fall that really would have paid off with a better script and better direction on-set. He totally blew the execution (he should have found a writer to script from his story, and should have had hired guns to direct on 2 and 3 for instance), but story wasn’t the problem with the PT. Based on his previous work, I have a sinking feeling we’ll see the opposite with JJ’s TFA – snappy script, a director who gets solid work out of his cast, but a story without much brains or thematic heart.
In what crazy world did the PT have any where near a good story? They were unceasingly cliche, contrived, dumbed-down pieces of flash devoid of any substance. Not only were they riddled with plot-holes, with the few times they actually tried to explain something the explanation was either nonsensical or just silly, but they actually created a bunch of plot-holes and inconsistencies with the OT for almost no reason whatsoever.
Sorry, you might be very nostalgic about the PT, but they were devoid of anything close to a good story and were just flashy pictures designed to milk a brand. And the flash was sub-par at that.
I’m not nostalgic for the PT, on the contrary, I find it dissapointing to see the fantastic bones that Lucas developed totally sqaundered on shitty execution – the films don’t really work all that well. However, what you’re talking about is scripting issues (of which there are pleanty of examples in the PT), not STORY.
If you really want to compare, there’s really not much story in the OT (which I grew up with as they came out BTW), and a fair number of ‘Oh, BS!’ facile wrap-ups to dangling threads because they were never plotted in full together. Now, the movies work like crazy because of solid scripting, and largely Empire, where there was a collaborative effort on set with a director who was capable (and interested) in getting the strongest performances out of his cast that he could, and a strong emotional theme that Lucas was interested in pursuing (the father/son relationship, and not making the same choices your parents did). Without Empire though, there’s little depth to the OT story to be frank.
By contrast, the PT, plotted out together, tells a better, more nuanced STORY, explores more adult thematic areas that Lucas was obviously facinated by, and takes some real risks with fan expectations. If you look at the actual story that’s at work under the crappy scripts and rushed direction, there’s no denying the PT has more, and more thoughtful stuff going on than the OT does.
Yes I think 80% OT 20% PT = 1000% ST
So are we getting a trailer on Friday or nah
Likely not…unfortunately. Stranger things have happened, however.
If we take JJ at his word he said not until “fall” but I’m still holding out hope!
It is meteorological fall…so there is some hope.
Due to the rising trend in the action movies, I’m growing sick of the chase scenes. I’m MUCH more interested in the actual fights. Chase scenes – not my cup of tea.
It really depends on the quality of the chase scene.. I personally don’t like Mission impossible, but I got a real sense of speed and action in the chase sequence (car and motor part) but when I watch F&F I can see that they sometimes do less than 30mph and I just can’t get excited over that.
Mad Max: Fury Road owned its chase sequences. I wish George Miller could do an anthology film.
Yeah, Fury Road showed exactly where it went wrong after the 80s with chase movies 🙂 Miller got all my money when it premiered in Manilla.
Watch the behind the scenes video again. When they show the film camera, the same “mark” can be found there too.
A Luke cameo and no original cast interaction between the big 3.
Damn you, JJ.
At least we can reunite their action figures… I hope.
Que chulo!! 😀
For all the cry-babies: these are not in the movie!!
They are just toys 🙂
The don’t have SW+TFA logo’s, so they are probably not in the movie…
Just because you say something is terrible does not mean you are “blindly hating it” Maybe the dude is just not a fan of the films. Which is the case with most people anyway.
First!
Looking forward to seeing the original cast molded in plastic. Wave 2? Hopefully.
I wonder what kind of price tag these small vehicle sets will have. I’m guessing the 3.75″ figures will be around 7 USD – maybe around 20 for these? I’m gonna have to set a limit for myself on Friday or I will go broke…just wondering how far I can stretch that dollar. Plus I still have to actually buy some toys for my son 🙂
Well at least you’ve got a good sense of priorities. He’ll understand (in thirty years).
New troopers are less cool than the originals, or even Clone troopers . I hope RIan Johnson would update cooler version of new troopers.
Jeez, another speeder bike chase through a forest? Also: can’t they come up with original designs for the vehicles and ships? Practically everything ‘new’ is a rehash of designs we’ve seen before.. 😐
Its only 30 years later dude get a grip. Especially with Military stuff; that stuff sticks around forever. The B52 bomber is still used in the US Military and thats been around for 50+ years.
will these toys appear in the film ? 3 words : Endor Forest Ranger
Endor Forrest Ranger…came out after Jedi had bowed, and Kenner was desperately looking for a way to extend the line’s life with no new films on the horizon. A movie year, particularly a virtual re-launch of SW, shouldn’t need non-canon vehicles.
The one thing I fear with Disney is product placement, even in a galaxy far far away. Lucas did all kinds of stuff with Star Wars marketing and products but the one thing he didn’t do was put Pepsi or some other product in Star Wars. I know its just a paint scheme, but I really hope Disney doesn’t have Chrysler symbol on a star ship or someone ordering a Dr Pepper drink in a Catina. Please no.
Someone ordering a Dr. Pepper would be awesome. Dr. Pepper is awesome.
I LOVE THE PT!
Ok. I love the PT and Dr Pepper. Someone ordering a Dr. Pepper would not be awesome. it would suck ass.
i just seen some pix of the 50$ hasbro black x wing, its pure horror :

Are you retarded?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with new Star Wars toys.
And changing the color of an x-wing should have zero effect on your liking of it.
That’s basically a purely aesthetic dislike.
I don’t understand how you can dislike something that is basically the same as the old x-wing and even resembles the concept art of Ralph more so, who has always been praised for his work.
I don’t think he talked about the x-wing look, but of the quality of the toy
These toys are awesome! Some of the best action scenes have no dialogue. Which is why the forest chase in RotJ and even the pod race in TPM are two of my favorite scenes in the saga. No talking. Just lots of blaster sounds and speeder/pod engine noise and best of all Star Wars music! I hope there’s at least 2-3 scenes like this in TFA! It’s actually a huge reason why these films are so classic.
How hilarious would it be if Captain Phasma was Cindel from the Ewok adventures? Nerd rage head explosions!
Does anyone think that the ewok adventures are better than the prequel’s??
I have those toys
Akiva. The jungle planet is Akiva
Wellp. Now I want a Chrysler. xD
NO SPOILERS here!
When are you gonna learn people?
No TFA-logo means NOT IN THE MOVIES
Just some extra toys to make money!
God I hate seeing that Disney logo on the photos. Kind of ruins them.
Just wait till you see that twinkly castle before the crawl.
Aaaaaaaaaaagh!
Oh crap on a cracker,i hadn’t thought about that!! You know something will be missing without the fox fanfare.
No “The Force Awakens” on the box means it isn’t from the movie. The ones that have the logo are directly taken from the film.
how cool is that??
I’m not sure if these really look too good, but they remind me of the vintage mini-rigs, which is nice. The art on the packaging is nice as well.
http://thestarwarsbox.blogspot.com/
Weird, I own that car. Same color too. Black Challenger R/T with the Red Dodge stripes on the hood.
frankly until now i have not seen anything from this movie i disliked aesthetically… until now. why update seemingly every stormtrooper design and not the biker scout. i really hope this just a random extra toy. ie: its cheaper to paint it black and throw a red stripe on it than re-design.
Total trash.
