Star Wars: The Force Awakens Tickets to be on Sale in October!
According to the guys over at Full of Sith, the tickets for The Force Awakens will go on sale on October 19 in the US. We also got a confirmation that indeed October is the month when the tickets will go on sale.
From FullOfSith:
Your wallet’s gotten a workout since Force Friday, but you’re probably wondering “When do I get to spend money on the the good stuff? When can I buy tickets to The Force Awakens?”
OCTOBER 19th. That’s when. At least if you’ve got a Century or Cinemark theater nearby. Although it’s likely a safe bet your Regals and your AMCs will have their box-offices waiting to receive your money around the same time.
When we heard this report we checked with our friends at Fandango, who confirmed that tickets for The Force Awakens will be on sale in October, but the actual date is not clear yet.
We’re almost 3 months away from TFA premiere. How cool is that!

Does anyone know when we can buy them in the UK?
Possibly around that date too.
I wonder how easy or difficult it’s going to be to get tickets for the opening night. I said I’d sort out the tickets for me and another colleague plus our our boss..all massive Star Wars fans…the boss is paying for dinner
Highly doubtful opening night tickets will be hard to get. Not in this day and age. At most, standing on line for an extra 15-30 mins (tops) might happen but I can’t see not getting in to any showing at all.
That’s cool because I’ve never seen a big movie on opening night before. I usually wait until the crowds have died down a little…but I’m pumped for this one, so I am seeing it with my SW loving co-workers first and will take my family later who are more meh about the whole thing. But it will be nice to come out of the theatre and discuss the movie with proper fans.
Any word if theaters will do a 1 – 6 marathon leading up to December 18th?
There was a report that AMC will do some type of marathon. Cinemark did one for Marvel movies at select theaters leading up to Avengers 2. I have Cinemark near me so hoping they do one.

This will be a day long remembered.
It has seen the end of camping out for tickets…
I will take 500 please.
Gonna have that box-office on lightspeed-dial
I want info on any advance screenings they might have… perhaps charity premieres like they did for Revenge of the Sith.
I’m buying my tickets the day they go on sale. Really hoping my local Cinemark XD does a Star Wars marathon!
I wonder how many tickets we’ll be able to buy at once? I plan on seeing this film a few dozen times. xD
A few dozen times? While it’s in theatres? Haha, jeez there sure are some dedicated fans here . I doubt I’m into the few dozens for any of movies since they were released..maybe seen my favourite which is ANH around 15-20 times in my whole life. Good Luck !
I wonder how ticket presales will affect the first available show for people waiting in line opening night.
All 3 prequels had pre-sales. I am sure there will many screens playing it, but if they want a guaranteed seat, they need to get tix ahead of time. I camped out for 1 to but tickets a month or so before release. Not as bad for 2 or 3, but I definitely got them early.
Oh, okay. Cool.
Plus I guarantee that EVERY screen in a theater playing TFA wil be starting at the same time. there is likely 9 midnight shows
Debating if I should watch it in IMAX 3D or standard. Wish they just did 2D IMAX.
I plan to buy 15 tickets for the same showing for me and my 2 friends, at the Cineplex you can actually reserve your seats so I will buy 3 and create a surrounding space around us of 12 to have good old peace and quiet while watching it lol
That would make you a huge asshole if you did that in opening week
Clever idea. Costly. People are so rude now in theaters it totally ruins the experience in going. That’s amazing that you can reserve your seats. No where I have ever experienced that feature.
Might depend on where you live. I live in Seattle, and there are several theaters around here now that have specific reserved seating
Yeah cineplex in Canada have something called ULTRA AVX which is a theatre with bigger screen, better sound and the possibility to choose your seat… In a 12 screens cineplex there usually is 1 or 2 screens like that. Don’t really care if it makes us assholes honestly…I have met enough people talking, pushing my seats etc in my 35 years going to the theatre…And I am too old now to go to the midnight screening with the hardcore fans who will be there for the movie and not to eat popcorn, chat or spend the movie texting on the cellphone
I would be surprised if the date for the start of the ticket sales is the same day we get the new trailer. J.J. said fall…. which officially starts September 23, so it would fit.
I call shenanigans …. Lol… TICKETS??? Do we get a trailer first? I suppose UK and EU get to see the trailer AND buy tickets first too huh? 🙁
im sooo getting my tix asap, going imax 3d, but i wiil go again n see 2d
Meh, I’ve never had a hard time getting in at the last minute, they always just open another theatre if it fills up. I lined up for TPM, I just showed up for AOTC and ROTS, same result.
Im not sure how it works everywhere else. But here theres no need to wait in line. Can just buy them in the comfort of your own home the second the go on sale online
You will still need to stand in line to get into the theater. If your not there early enough you may have to sit on the side or in the very front row.
Just go to a theater that has reserved seats. Problem solved.
There are not theaters with reserved seats where I live, unfortunately.
Well in that case you’ll probably meet a lot of other Star Wars fans on line! 🙂 It will probably be fun. Bring a lightsaber.
Yeah, but at least you have tickets in hand. And I doubt people who already have their tickets will be camping 3 days in advance. However, I would bet anything though that the line will start 12 hours in advance.
Not if you reserve your seats.
Other then the Star Wars movies, how many other movies in history had people actually camping out for nights on end to get tickets to that movie?
The Jazz Singer had people camping out for 453 days.
Thanks God for Fandango. 🙂 Now we can camp out in our pj’s at our computer instead. You do miss out on the camaraderie that develops between fans while waiting in line, but I think it’s a fair trade.

Is the rumor of Mark Hammil slipping and almost falling off Skelleg Michael today during filming VIII true?????
that was last year that he almost slipped according to the news. Today he was most likely surefooted and cut a dashing figure.
Regal Cinemas is offering a 100 dollar pass that lets the owner see SPECTRE once a day. I REALLY HOPE THAT OTHER THEATRES OFFER SOMETHING SIMILAR FOR TFA.
how much will the tickets be in australia??
OK, but when will the first screenings actually be? Release date is December 18, but does that mean we theaters will show at 3:00pm on the 17th? Or 10:00pm? I assume midnight will happen…
