…so was the “Grand Inquisitor” the First Father or something?

I think the Grand Inquisitor was just the Grand Inquisitor. I, too, am interested in seeing how the whole hierarchy of the Inquisitorious plays out.

I would think that officially Vader was the original Grand Innquisitor before passing the title to someone else.

It would certainly help rationalize his role within the empire… otherwise he would be officially an officer.

vaders officcial role is somethign that always confusedd me… do governments normally have “”that one guy taht does the things”

I would have to disagree. Darth Vader is a Sith Lord, something none of the other Inquisitors are. The Inquisitorious was basically founded so he could dedicate his work to other things, so his actual involvement in the order – besides training a few pupils – is extremely limited.

Darth Vader’s official role is Supreme Commander, if I’m remembering correctly.

Plus Filoni said in one of the videos this site posted, I think, was that the Inquisitor that was killed in season 1 was the Grand Inquisitor.

I know that he was the grand inquisitor up until he got killed, but I still feel like Vader could have had that role before him.

Being an inquisitor of any sort would be below him..he is an actual Sith Lord hence the given title “Darth”

Is everyone just going to ignore what I am saying? Yeah I know he is a sith lord, you dont have to tell me that he is a Sith lord… I know what a sith lord is.

I am saying, as part of his role in imperial functions that he might have been officially labeled as the grand Inquisitor at one point.

ITs just a title, it isnt going to magically sap away his power.

Yeaaaaaaah…. but the fact he and palpatine are Sith Lords is not widely known in the empire, and its implied in various works that they wouldnt be accepted if this was known.

The history of the sith is simply too dark for it to be accepted.

Not digging the names of the inquisitors. Fifth brother, seventh sister? Lame. I guess the empire wanted to make sure that everyone KNOWS that they’re brother and sister given Star Wars sketchy past with incest.

Well, lets see if this ties into the new films. I wonder if the rumor of the flashback scene in Episode 7 that shows a cult named “The Seven” has anything to do with these inquisitors.

I bet it does. The “sister” and “brother” names have a very cultish sound to them.

I can’t help but wonder if the names aren’t some kind of reference to the old Kurosawa film, “The Seven Samurai”.

I took “brother” and “sister” to be cultish titles rather than implying they are literally blood relatives. They don’t even look like the same species to me.

On Wookieepedia, it says that the Fifth Brother’s species hasn’t been identified, so you’re probably correct.

I’m assuming the brother and sister titles are their “names” because all other bits of their former identities have been discarded. If the Inquisitors are the kidnapped younglings then their pasts were wiped away early enough they wouldn’t even remember what their given names were at birth. But the brother/sister labels are also reminiscent of the “siblings” from the Mortis story arc, I have to think that might tie in somewhere too. I mean the Grand Inquisitor from season 1 looked so much like the initial form the Brother manifested as when he introduced himself to the Jedi trio.

The idea of multiple inquisitors takes me back to the clone wars episode when Cad Bane stole the Jedi Holocron from the Jedi Temple that had a list of Force sensitive young kings. I’m assuming post order 66 the empire obtained this Holocron and kidnapped these younglings and trained them as Dark side inquisitors. One of the first younglings being the Grand Inquisitor.

I really don’t like the new sabers that are popping up everywhere.

complaining about sounds seems a little nitpicky …. especialy since I am fairly certain every saber has a unique sound and should have a unique sound as its a unique weapon.

The most recognizable thing about star wars has always been the ligthtsabers. That is the way they look and especially the way they sound. As soon as disney got hold of it they changed it.

Sure they did. It’s a quick light flash in most hits throughout the movie series. But not in Rebels.

They way the lightsabers look in Rebels replicates the way they originally looked pre-special edition…. so technically Disney is being more true to the look of the lightsaber than Lucasfilm was.

I seem to distinctly remember someone talking about how every lightsaber has a slightly different sound to it once before…

Also, the fact that they arent recycling sound workand making new sound effects means they are putting more effort into it.

It’s easy to compare. Darth Vader’s blade in Rebels and the same blade in OT. Despite that I’m pretty sure they sound different.

It’s all a ploy to sell toys. You can now buy pieces and make your own lightsaber. Is the stapler gun lightsaber stupid, yes. But little tweaks here and there to the lightsabers I don’t really mind.

I hope they explain the whole Inquisitor thing and how they came about, also what relation if any they have to the Knights of Ren. I would also like to know if they were something George Lucas thought up and passed on or if it’s all Filoni and Lucasfilm.
Bout time Filoni got in on the movie action too.
